The Top 50 candidates for the Best Job in the World were asked by Tourism Queensland to write a short story / mini essay (300 – 500 words) which answered several questions. One question read “If successful in gaining The Best Job in the World with Tourism Queensland, who will be joining you on your journey to the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef?”
If I am lucky enough to be hired for the Best Job in the World, I would without a doubt, take my sister Angela! Ang is eight years older than me and has always been someone I look up to.
Inspired by the ’25 Random Things’ Facebook note that I keep getting tagged in, I decided I’d write 25 Random Reasons why she’s the best sister I could’ve ever hoped for…

Yesterday, Peter Kim from Shaw TV’s The Express came over to do an interview with me for the show. If you’ve ever watched The Express though, you know they don’t like to do just a regular interview! After we filmed the interview, captured some footage of Julie the guinea pig, and shot some bits of me twittering and responding to comments on my blog, Peter sent me to Skydive Vancouver to jump >10,000 ft out of a perfectly good airplane and prove that I’m adventurous and willing to do just about anything for the Best Job in the World! This one’s for YOU and YOUR VOTES!

Yesterday Marcella, Erik and I went on CityTV’s Breakfast Television program to do an interview about being shortlisted for the Best Job in the World. This was by far the most creative and fun segment any of us have done! In addition to asking us the regular questions about our application, they had us do a little contest amongst ourselves to find 10 goldfish crackers in our respective bowls of dirt mix (which by the way were very stinky — it wasn’t just dirt in there). Here is the video of our interview and goldfish hunt with Dawn Chubai:

The final few hours counting down to the announcement of the Top 50 were torturous! I kept clicking my ‘refresh’ for my inbox and every website that was covering the story. Did I get a new e-mail? Does anyone know yet? Has anyone been contacted?

You know how everyone has this place where they just have to go one day? For most people it’s Paris or Rome or maybe the North Pole. For me, it was Russia. I don’t know why, but when I was 15 and I heard Russian for the first time, that was it. I just had to go.

I just wanted to say Thank You to everyone for all their kind words here, on other sites, via e-mail, through Twitter, on Facebook and in person as well regarding my application for the Best Job in the World!

There are lots of things that rhyme with Chih, which is why I feel so lucky to be me.

I was reading the comments left on my application video through Youtube and I figured I should probably clarify a few things and answer a few questions.
