I’ve been working in Marketing & PR for an adventure travel company for about six months now, but I don’t think I’ve fully adjusted to being on the other side of the Client / Operator and Freelancer / Employee lines just yet…

While the thousands of blue uniform volunteers were working long hours and sometimes ridiculous back-to-back shifts (hearts out to Angie and Bee), SFU and UBC students had a couple weeks off of school to “study” since Transit would be off schedule servicing the games. I hope one of the requirements for all Marketing students was to visit the Coca Cola pavilion!

What’s the Target Market for the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef?

I was catching up on the discussion boards on the islandreefjob ning page when I came across the discussion about whether Tourism Queensland would hire an individual, couple or family for the job. I hadn’t even considered whether they would hire a family since the job posting was for one person and I haven’t seen any family applications. But then it got me wondering about the target market for tourism on the islands of the Great Barrier Reef.
